Mazda Production and Sales Results for September 2016 and for April through September 2016 (Flash Report)
Mazda Motor Corporation's production and sales results for September 2016 and for April through September 2016 are summarized below.
I. Production
Note 1): Overseas production figures show the number of Mazda-branded units coming off the production line (excepting CKD units). However, non-Mazda-branded passenger vehicles produced at the Mexico plant are included. Note 2): Global production figures are the sum total of domestic and overseas production volumes.
1. Domestic Production (1) September 2016 Mazda's domestic production volume in September 2016 increased 2.0% year on year due to increased production of passenger vehicles.

(2) April through September 2016 Mazda's domestic production volume in the period April through September 2016 decreased 1.8% year on year due to decreased production of passenger and commercial vehicles.

2. Overseas Production (1) September 2016 Mazda's overseas production volume in September 2016 increased 1.7% year on year due to increased production of passenger vehicles.

II. Domestic Sales
(1) September 2016 Mazda's domestic sales volume in September 2016 decreased 11.3% year on year due to decreased sales of passenger vehicles. Mazda's registered vehicle market share was 5.7% (down 1.0 points year on year), with a 2.5% share of the micro-mini segment (down 0.1 points year on year) and a 4.6 % total market share (down 0.6 points year on year).

(2) April through September 2016 Mazda's domestic sales volume in the period April through September 2016 decreased 23.0% year on year due to decreased sales of passenger vehicles. Mazda's registered vehicle market share was 4.8% (down 2.0 points year on year), with a 2.4% share of the micro-mini segment (up 0.1 point year-on-year) and a 4.0% total market share (down 1.2 points year on year).

III. Exports
(1) September 2016 Mazda's export volume in September 2016 decreased 11.5% year on year due to decreased shipments to North America, Europe, Oceania and other regions.
